Furnace and air conditioning. Now’s the time to give them their annual cleaning. Set and maintain a comfortable temperature.
Minor, do-it-yourself repairs. Tighten loose doorknobs, cabinet handles, towel racks and anything else you can fix.
Fix leaky faucets if you can. Call in a plumber if there's something that needs more than you can cope with.
Bugs are never welcome, but this would be a particularly bad time for anything to crawl into view. Keep a can of insect spray handy and use it regularly on any known problem areas.
