Eye Appeal - Eight Tips to make your buyers look twice

Start with the front door. It's certain to be seen. Stain or paint it if needed. If there's brass or other metal trim, polish it. Check the back door, too.

Exterior appearance. Complete repainting is an unnecessary expense, but consider a touch up paint job on trim and other areas people will notice.

Do a number on you house number. It's something you've taken for granted and it could be faded. Shiny new brass numbers will stand out.

Check the mail. Your mailbox or letter slot could be replaced or repainted.

Get up on the ladder. Clean debris out of eavestroughs. Look for loose shingles on the roof.

Window inspection. Replace any broken or cracked glass or torn screens. Wash all the windows you can reach.

Are the little things working? The entry light. Is it bright enough? How about the doorbell? Can it be heard? How does it sound?

Get going on the garage. Could be a major project. Clean out that junk. Is it time for a garage sale?
